An exceptional and rare French ormolu guéridon, early 19th century from the Restoration Period The circular Lourdes Coquina marble top with pierced and channelled gallery with guilloche moulding, above three ring bearing lion head legs terminating in acanthus and hairy paw feet and joined by a marble circular platform with collar and a tripartite stretcher with berried foliate mount and pine cone finial, on brass castors. In very good and original condition and retaining its original fire gilding. 730mm high and 690mm diameter. French. Circa 1820.

The Lourdes Coquina marble was quarried during the 18th and early 19th centuries in the Hautes- Pyreneese, France, the last operator was Mr. Louis Anglade, a hotel has now been built on the site.
